Angie Jacques

I would describe myself as dedicated, motivated and compassionate.
My best friends would describe me as humorous, active and supportive.
My students would describe me as inspiring, knowledgeable and fun!

I hold a BA in Psychology and studio arts, AFAA certified and a Reiki 2 practitioner. I knew in elementary school I would be a social worker so… social services is where I spent 17 years happily working with adolescents and families reuniting and fostering an environment for personal, healthy growth.  In 2005 I completed rigorous coursework in anatomy and physiology, breathing techniques, meditation, alignment, history and ethics of yoga. Since becoming certified I have attended and taught dozens of workshops in related topics. In 2018 I brought free outdoor yoga to Willimantic in support of the local food pantry and later that year established YOGA on NORTH! Yoga should be affordable, accessible and approachable and at YONO it is.

Outside of the studio I am the Yoga teacher for many of the UCONN sports teams including Football, Baseball, Dive, Hockey, Row and others! I am a mountain biker, traveler & food lover!

My mission is to inspire and motivate students to take an active role in their physical and mental well-being through the practice of yoga, meditation, movement and the healing art of reiki.

I will create and hold a space for you to flourish and shine and be the best version of you.

Yoga Instructor

It was love at first sun salutation for me about ten years ago. I was instantly fascinated by the spiritual, emotional and physical facets of yoga. To gain a deeper understanding of the special gifts of yoga, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training at Samadhi Studio in Manchester, CT in 2014. I feel honored to share the gifts of yoga with my students.

Since our children have taken flight out of the nest, my husband and I travel around the world, experiencing yoga wherever we go. I bring an eclectic combination of poses, breath work and humor to my yoga practice that hopefully connects you to yourself and others through Love.

I was completely blown away and transformed after attending my first Buti™ Yoga class. I knew this was something I was meant to share, so naturally I completed my Buti™ and Hot Buti™ certification.

I hold a BS in Medical Technology from Florida Atlantic University. Being a science major, I must know the hows and the whys, soooo, to deepen my practice, I decided to pursue my 200-hour yoga teacher training through Buti™.

When I am not teaching Buti™, I enjoy spending time with my family, trail running and metal detecting.

“Buti” means a cure to something that has been kept hidden. It’s time to release it! My greatest joy comes when I see a new student’s face after class and know they have been changed just as I was on that day so long ago. I love people and want to help them find their inner fire.

Meet me on the mat and find the fire you never knew you had.

Yoga/Pilates fusion Instructor

What a journey I have been on! Originally from California, my husband’s Naval career had us move from coast to coast 3 times in 10 years! Now 3000 miles from our families in California, with our three daughters we have put down real roots for the first time. Being so far from family has made being part of this community so important to me.

I have always been very athletic between softball, soccer, volleyball, snowboarding, and of course, yoga. After having my children, my primary focus was on them and my self-care outlets began to slip. Once my youngest started preschool, that all changed. I jumped back into yoga, as well as taking every fitness class imaginable. The next logical step was to get AFAA certified as a Group Fitness Instructor to allow me to motivate others to reach their fitness goals and have a great time doing it!

My classes are creative and energetic and my passion for yoga and fitness will have you sweating, smiling and coming back for more!

Erin W.

Yoga Instructor

Though she yoga practiced on and off for a few years, Erin fell in love HOT yoga while trying to cope with the stress and anxiety of working full time and attending graduate school. With a background in running, sports, and aerial arts, she found that sometimes a sweaty flow was just the thing that could tire her body out enough to still her mind for meditation. In fact, she loved it so much that she trained with Kathleen Maroney, who is Baptiste-certified and owns Luna Vinyasa Hot Yoga Studio in Middletown, CT.

As an elementary school teacher, Erin enjoys sharing her practice with yogis of all ages and levels. She encourages others to use yoga as a tool for mind-body connection, stress-management, and cultivating compassion for the self and for others. Erin is passionate about helping people and believes that everyone can practice yoga in a way that enhances their lives. She is constantly finding new styles of yoga to fall in love with. Erin shares yoga, wellness, and travel tips on her blog

Jessica H

Yoga Instructor

“I fell in love with yoga five years ago while attending a class offered by a Kripalu-certified instructor at the University of Connecticut. From that moment on, I knew yoga would be pivotal in my life.

In December of 2018, I graduated from UConn with a BA in Psychology and minors in both Spanish and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. In August of 2019, I graduated from my 200-hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training. To me, yoga is a simple reminder of the human-ness we all experience. Yoga reminds us to be mindful, to be present, and to love ourselves wholeheartedly. Through yoga, we can find the ability to heal and experience true self-love. I know in my heart and soul that we, as a community of people on this earth, can all benefit from practicing yoga.

I also enjoy being outdoors and hiking, as well as spending time with my rascal of a husky. I hope to incorporate my love of crystals and essential oils into my practice. I am also Reiki I and II certified, and I can’t wait to incorporate what I have learned about energy healing into my practice. I am honored to be a part of the YONO family and can’t wait to share my passion for yoga with you.”

Anna G

Yoga is a lifestyle for me. It is medicine for my physical body, my emotional being and my soul. When I practice regularly my life is in  balance and when I spend too much time away from the mat I fall out of sync with the world. I love sharing yoga with others and watching as my students become healthier and happier beings.

I am RYT 500 certified and also a Dharma school Level 2 graduate practicing shaman and Reiki Master. I have experience teaching yoga to a variety of communities including: prenatal, baby & me, children, teenagers, first responders, chair yoga, seniors, partner yoga, Stand Up Paddleboard yoga, addiction recovery, mental health and private sessions.

I look forward to meeting you on the mat!

I found yoga after a lifetime of competitive running as a healing practice for my body. I was amazed at how great yoga could make me feel both internally and externally. Yoga has been such a healing and grounding practice for me through everything that life throws at all of us and I wanted to be able to share that with others through teaching yoga. I earned my 200 hr YTT through the Yoga and Ayurveda Center and currently am a graduate student at the Uconn Speech Pathology program. Outside of yoga I love to play with my three dogs, cook and workout! I look forward to meeting you all in practice.
