Mindfulness 101: Meditation for Beginners with Jeanne Chadwick

Meditation can be a powerful way to reduce stress. It can also help us to understand and relate to challenging feelings in healthier ways.

If you are new to Mindfulness Meditation (also known as Insight Meditation or Vipassana Meditation) or are seeking to strengthen your practice, you may find this workshop to be a valuable resource for balance and stability in a hectic and challenging world. Along with these benefits, Mindfulness Meditation offers us the opportunity to learn to be fully present and open to whatever is happening in our own experience, just as it is.

Through this kind of attention, happiness and peace grow in our lives; we learn to be kinder and more accepting of ourselves and bring this awareness into our relationships and the world we share with others.

During this workshop, we will emphasize experiential practice, including instructions for sitting and walking meditation, and explore how we can bring this into our everyday lives. This workshop will include time for practice, talks, guidance from the instructor, and plenty of time for sharing during the last half an hour. There will be suggestions for starting a home practice to support you in establishing and/or sustaining your existing practice.
