Overcoming Insomnia: Strategies to Achieve a Good Night’s Sleep

This 60-minute workshop will focus on strategies for getting a good night’s sleep. The session begins with useful information on what is happening to your brain and body as you sleep. You will learn about the sleep cycle and dream periods as well as the benefits of good sleep to your mental and physical health. Then, we will address strategies for initiating and maintaining good sleep. Many people have habits that prevent them from experiencing restorative sleep, and even very small changes in one’s lifestyle can have a huge impact on sleep quality and duration.
Dr. Susan Powers has a doctorate in clinical psychology and has been an educator all of her adult life at the high school and college levels.
